Week #43

Nothing exciting to report for this week. It's been super slow the past few weeks. But that's okay, we keep on trucking anyway! So no news to tell of.

But, women's conference was soooo good! Ah, I loved it! I hope you got to watch it mom and em. Elder Eyring's talk was amazing. They just all were so good! I love watching conference as a missionary. It's so different and so much more special. Maybe because I actually pay attention? Haha I don't know. Anyway, i'm so excited for conference.

Thank you for the camera!!! It hasn't worked yet because I don't have an SD card but I'm buying one today so that will be perfect. I think that's about it for me. Family, I love you all so much and pray for you every single day. I'm so grateful for the plan of salvation and that we are all stuck together for eternity :) that has become so incredibly precious to me out here.

I'll send pictures next week because I'll actually have some! Miracle! Haha. love you :)

by the way, indy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! sorry I didn't tell you last week. Love you!

OH! also! transfers are next week so if you could send everything to the mission home that would be great! 10675 NE 20th st. Bellevue, WA 98004

Week #42

Unfortunately I don't have a ton to report for this week! I think it was Spring Break or something because it seemed like EVERYONE was gone. I can't tell you how many doors we knocked and no one answered. Or maybe they really were home hahaha. Anyway...

No new investigators to report on. Ours are doing fine right now! They are all super chatty. I swear we find the most talkative people haha it's hilarious. But they are great. We should have baptisms coming up in April. If all goes according to plan....

Funny story for this week. We had, no lie, 6 people come to the door either half dressed or completely undressed! I don't know what it is! Who answers the door like that!?!? Geez. Pretty sure my eyes about popped out of my head hahaha.

One more sort of funny story. Last night at like 12:30 I hear our door swing open and our apt. manager yells in, is anyone awake!? I thought to myself, well we are now you idiot. I was so mad hahaha. He came in and flips on the lights and says something from your apt. is leaking into the apartment below and it's flooding their kitchen. I was not even coherent at this point so he scrambled around our apartment and runs out the door yelling I'll be back!! So we both go back to bed. an hour later he throws open our door and yells the same thing!! We get woken up again and he tells us what is going on. Honestly I don't remember a word he said but he left in a hurry. then, at 3:30 AM!!! a plumber comes in. 3:30 am people!!! I was livid. He sat and fiddled around with our water heater for like 30 minutes and then before he leaves says, "You don't have hot water. And won't until tomorrow afternoon. Have a great night." Seriously dude?? Anyway, it was an eventful night to say the least.

Other than that, not a ton to report! It's been another beautiful week and today it is going to be 65! I am a happy, happy camper. Life is good!

Week #41

Hello all!! This week was a good one. It was 60 degrees and sunny every day. That sure brightened my spirits! Thank heavens for natural vitamin d! I got to sort of tan my embarrassingly white legs.

So I got to go on exchanges this week, and I went to Mexico!! Sort of. Haha I went with a spanish sister and I realized how awesome the spanish people are. So humble and so nice!! Im really jealous. Ha but it was great! Didnt understand a single word that was going one but I loved it anyway.

We got an awesome referral for a guy that has met with Elders before but is really prepared this time around to here the gospel. He is giong to be baptized in April and we are stoked for him! There are prepared people here! It was a miracle.

We also had interviews with President this week. Mine was really short but it was good anyway. I walked out and the thought came to me... I love my mission. This is the first time I have ever said this. EVER. I'm a little embarrassed to admit this... But in the 9 months that I have been out I have never thought that. Until this week. It was weird because the second I thought that, everything got so much easier? And harder all at the same time. Haha. I thank Heavenly Father every single day for softening my heart and getting through my stubborness. I'm still working on it but I'm so grateful for the concept of enduring to the end. The best blessings come when its something we hve to work for. I love you all!!! The church is true!

No email from Montana today. Not sure why since we were chatting back and forth for a while…. Maybe that took up all her time! But she had a good week----slow, but good!

Week #39

This week was a good one! Lots better than last week. Thank the heavens. thank you all so much for the prayers and love. I've definitely felt it!!

So we're making good progress with Nevan Bacon. He is set to be baptized on the 22nd. We had to push his date back but we know he'll be ready! We've got a few new investigators too. One of them even came to church! We found her knockingon Saturday night and taught her a little on her doorstep. We invited her to church, not really thinking much of it. (oh me of little faith...) and the next day she was there! her name is Marlene Heinemann. She is the funniest, little, old lady with fluffy white hair. We like her.

We had a Zone Conference this week and we talked a lot about obedience. President Choi got up and asked each zone to give a percentage of how obedient he thought everyone was being. All the zones said around 80%. He did some sort of math and said okay, that means everyone is comitting around 5 sins. (I dunno where he came up with that, just roll with it) Then he called an Elder up and said, "Elder, you'll be paying for all the sins in your zone." Every missionary in the zone had to get up and say their name and count to 5 while the Elder did 5 pushups. There were around 30 missionaries in their zone I think. So he was doing fine until a little more than halfway. He started struggling, got really tired, was breathing really heavy. He asked if he could take a break and President Choi just looked at him. He sat for a sec and said, "No, I don't need a break." At this point, I'm a wreck. I started getting really teary and wanted to help this kid! i wanted to stop and say I'll take over! Then he finished. It was a huge struggle but he finished. Then president choi calls ME up to say what I learned... Of course. I was emotional and couldn't get anything but gibberish out but it really was such a moving and learning experience. I learned that the Savior asked if he could take a break but in the supreme act of love, he kept going. For us. He payed for all of our sins and was happy to do it. I really can't express what I felt and what I learned but it was amazing. The atonement is such a hard thing for me to understand sometimes because it's so big and so deep ya know? But I definitely understand it more and got a glimpse of what the Savior did for me. I cannot express my gratitude for it!! I love him and am so grateful for his sacrifice.

I love you all!!
